Wilderness First Aid & CPR/AED

Details: 

Red Cross CPR/AED and Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WRFA) - training required for 2 members of each Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base, and Summit crew, and highly recommended for unit backcountry camping. Successful participation results in 2-year Red Cross certifications. $129 for all three CPR, AED, and WRFA.

Youth participants must bring proof that age is over 14 years.

Basic Shotgun Instructor Course

Cutting is always done at the discretion of the Camp Ranger and/or council staff. In time for Spring work parties at camp! OSHA Required Equipment: Helmet with screen face shield, Ear protection, Chainsaw chaps and Chainsaw boots. You will need to have your own chain saw, fuel, bar oil and safety gear. Council Required Equipment: Safety glasses and work gloves. * The council has a limited number of chainsaw boots available for use. ** The camp has a few extra helmets and chaps available for use.

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor

Details: No prior archery experience is necessary but is very helpful. This certification will substitute for the BSA Archery Range Master course and allow you to open an archery range at council camps. This will also allow you train other Scouters for the their BSA Archery Range Masters card.
