• What: NRA Basic and Instructor Training for Rifle and Shotgun. These courses are needed for camps to run their ranges
• Location: Tonkawa Lodge @ Stearns Scout Camp (3303 County Road 44, South Haven, MN 55382)
• Dates: May 5th-7th
• Time: Class starts at 8 a.m. on May 3rd and will go through most of Sunday. Early arrivals can be accommodated if needed.
• Cost: $480, includes the NRA registration fee, food, housing, ammunition, and the instructor.
• You will also need to register in the NRA classes (this has no charge).

Leave No Trace Adult Training Course May 4-5, 2024 EVENT DETAILS: Join other Scout leaders at Northern Star Council’s May Spring Training for a fun, hands on experience, to build skills in Leave No Trace! This course is for BSA registered adults who want to improve outdoor experiences, reduce outdoor impacts and practice Leave No Trace! When: Saturday morning May 4, arrive early 7:00 a.m. and depart Sunday, May 5 at Noon. Where: Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp – Check in Swanson Lodge Supplies: Participants will be required to stay overnight as part of the training. Participants must supply their own personal tents and camping items. They will also share any required patrol camping equipment. Food is provided for the weekend and cooking/clean up is part of the course. (Please let us know if any food allergies or special accommodations are required) Bring: Health forms, waiver, over night camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, pad, tarp, mess kit and cup, water bottle, rain gear, personal items), and snacks. Zoom Session: Tuesday April 30, 7:00pm-9:00pm (required) Cost: $45 per participant registered before April 21, after $55 per participant. The cost covers; materials, facility fees and meals for the weekend.

Level 1 Instructor certification course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range. This is a required certification for Scouts BSA archery range supervision and merit badge instructors. An on-line course must be completed as a prerequisite; then followed by this on-range practical course.
